Mission

Andersson Architecture and Design specializes in programming, planning, and design. We focus on developing new and adapting existing facilities that function better, increase energy efficiency, meet current accessibility requirements, and are updated in terms of technology, collaboration, security and aesthetics.

 

Founded in 2009 by Nanette D. Andersson, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, our expertise is grounded in experience from an architectural and practical point of view. Our goal is to problem solve and develop creative client-based solutions within the recognized parameters of needs, existing circumstances, and budget in a changing new world environment.

Judson University Critiques

 

Nanette joined in the design reviews for the Junior's Spring Architectural Design class with Robin Randall at Judson University.  The projects were for a "Living Building" Competition for a mixed use complex in the City of Chicago.

Legislative Advocacy Day in Springfield IL.

 
Nanette was one of a hearty group of ten who met with legislators. The mission was to engage the legislators in discussions about green building as an economic engine and to raise awareness of green building in their individual districts.

Nanette writes article for the Daily Herald Business Journal on Architects and Sustainable Architecture

 
Nanette explains the impact of buildings on the environment and what steps architects take to effectively address the issues created by buildings environmnetal impacts in her article for the Daily Herald Business Journals Special Focus Section on Architecture & Construction.  This Special Section was sponsored by the American Institute of Architects Northeast Illinois Chapter as part of their focus on the profession during Architecture Week.

New associate Peggy Condon joins AA+D

 

Peggy Condon, joins Nanette at AA+D. Her education includes a Masters in Advertising from Northwestern University, landscape design at College of DuPage and graduate studies toward her Masters of Landscape Architecture at IIT. Peggy was recently re-elected to the Geneva Park District Board for her third term. Peggy is a welcome addition to the office.

First Annual Green Apple Day of Service

 
Nanette joined Geneva School Distric 304 in the electronics recycling event, part of the Center for Green Schools and the US Green Building Council’s First Annual Green Apple Day of Service.  This succesful event was one of over 30 events in Illinois, and 750 international events.

Nanette officially begins as Director, Northeast Illinois Chapter of AIA. At the AIA chapter meeting "Taking Advantage of Diversity issues"  she learned about MBE/WBE programs offered by state and Federal Government.
